Rosin can be made from various starting materials, such as hash, flower, and kief. Its unique characteristics make it impossible to distinguish between rosin and shatter. However, it is completely safe to use without the residual solvents left behind.
Gather a few materials:
- Hair straightener (you may already have this at home)
- Parchment paper
- A collection tool.
First, you’ll need to find a hair straightener with a low setting (275-320ºF). This will prevent the hair from drying out and producing strong rosin.
Before you remove the pressure, carefully remove the sample from the hot surface. This will help remove the resin from the plant material. If you are using a clean sheet of parchment, carefully collect the samples together. Grab some gloves before starting. Don't burn yourself, be careful when doing this. Hot wax will hurt badly if it touches the skin.
- Set hair straightener up
- Cut a 4x4" piece of paper
- Fold the paper in half
- Place materials (Weed) in between paper pieces. Lightly press together. Don't rip the paper.
- Place between straightener and apply firm pressure section by section for 3-7 seconds each.
Once open, take it out carefully and place heat resistant surface. Open the paper up and flatten the paper. Get the little bits of bud out of your resin. Once you get your dabs open and flat, allow cooling for 10-15 seconds. Once you're here you can start dabbing!
Who knew making dabs could be this easy. Always remember to wear safety gloves and a long sleeve shirt would be a good idea. Now you can say you made your own dabs.
